Steven Tyler on Hand for Presentation of Anti-Paparazzi

Steven Tyler has had enough of the paparazzi and he's lending his star power -- and his name -- to a new law in Hawaii which seeks to limit photographers' ability to snap the stars.
The so-called "Steven Tyler Act," initiated by the Aerosmith rocker himself and written by his manager Dina LaPolt, would provide a legal remedy for celebrities who are photographed by paparazzi while involved in "personal or familial activity."
The anti-paparazzi bill goes beyond what some states already have in place to protect celebs. More than just a limit on invasion of privacy, the law would impose liability on paps who use zoom lenses or audio devices to grab and then sell images or audio of stars who are in their homes or other private places.
Hawaii Senate Bill 465 is being presented at a Senate hearing in Honolulu on Friday and Tyler will be on hand, as will fellow rocker and Hawaii resident Mick Fleetwood ofFleetwood Mac.  The bill already enjoys support from two-thirds of the Senate.
"The paradise of Hawaii is a magnet for celebrities who just want a peaceful vacation," Tyler said in a statement.  "As a person in the public eye, I know the paparazzi are there and we have to accept that. But when they intrude into our private space, disregard our safety and the safety of others, that crosses a serious line that shouldn't be ignored."
The bill reportedly has the support of a slew of other celebrities, including Avril Lavigne, Tommy LeeBritney Spears, and Ozzy Osbourne and his family.

Rod Stewart Postpones Tour with Steve Winwood So He Can Finish His Album

Rod Stewart was supposed to kick off a U.S. tour in April with Steve Winwood, but now the trek has been postponed.  No, Rod isn't sick: he just wants to finish his new album.

A note on Stewart's official website reads, "To accommodate the finishing pre-production and spring promotion of his first original rock studio album in almost 20 years, Rod Stewart has pushed back his Spring tour with Steve Winwood -- which will now begin in October."  The new tour dates begin October 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina and are plotted out through a December 15 concert in Toronto.

All tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates; fans who want refunds will be able to get them at the point of purchase until February 22.

The last rock studio album for which Stewart wrote or co-wrote a significant amount of material was Vagabond Heart, which came out in 1991.  His last two studio efforts featuring original rock tunes were 1995's A Spanner in the Works and 1998's When We Were the New Boys.  In 2001, he put out an album called Human, which was more pop-leaning.

All of Rod's albums since then have been made up of covers of famous songs, either pop standards or classic rock tunes.  However, his 2012 album, Merry Christmas, Baby, did include one tune that he co-wrote.

Here are Stewart's new tour dates:

  • 10/17 -- Greensboro, NC, Greensboro Coliseum
  • 10/19 -- Atlanta, GA, Philips Arena
  • 10/24 -- Chicago, IL, United Center
  • 10/26 -- Auburn Hills, MI,  Palace of Auburn Hills
  • 12/4 -- Boston, MA, TD Garden
  • 12/7 -- Newark, NJ, Prudential Center
  • 12/9 -- New York City, NY, Madison Square Garden
  • 12/11 -- Philadelphia, PA, Wells Fargo Center
  • 12/14 -- Montreal, Canada, Bell Centre
  • 12/15 -- Toronto, Canada, Air Canada Centre

Bon Jovi Guitarist: "I'd Love to Play Next Year's Super Bowl"

This year's Super Bowl was less than a week ago, but everyone is already looking forward to next year's, mostly because it'll be quite a feat to pull off: It's taking place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which does not have a roof, and there's been plenty of speculation about what will happen if it snows. Still, that's not stopping Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora from dreaming about rocking the halftime show at the event.
